Originally from the unique town of Widnes, I studied for my undergraduate degree in Chemistry at the University of Manchester.
I completed my masters year under supervision of Dr. Gareth Law looking at neptunium biogeochemistry. I took a year out between my studies to go gallivanting around the globe and now I’m back at Manchester in the Centre for Radiochemistry Research. My project is focused on the characterisation of radioactive particles in the environment.
Outside of academic life I am usually found reading books at unsociable hours or painting on my bedroom floor. I also try to be outdoors as much as possible, especially on long walks with my wonderful pooch, Holmes.
