Jamie Miller, Leeds

Originally from Bristol in the beautiful South-West of England, I studied for my undergraduate and masters degrees in physics at the University of Leeds.

The main focus of my undergraduate degree was astrophysics with my masters research in supernovae expansions. I decided not to pursue astrophysics and thought I would find a PhD project with more real world applications. This has led me to a PhD project with applications in the nuclear industry. My project is based at the University of Leeds beginning to redesign the equipment used in the reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel.

Outside of university I like to sing and play guitar and can be seen on occasion at the odd open mic night. Other than that I tend to watch a lot of TV (too much) and films, particularly comedy and sci-fi.
