My name is Alex Morris and I’m a postgraduate researcher based at the University of Manchester’s Dalton Cumbrian Facility working with Professor Simon Pimblott. My research is on helium bubble formation in FCC metals. I am looking to dual-irradiate FCC metals with He ions and heavy ions using the two accelerators at the DCF. This is to simulate self-radiation damage in plutonium.
Before my PhD I completed a physics masters at the University of Manchester. I am originally from Milton Keynes so moving to Cumbria has involved some challenges.
I currently have no hobbies as there’s nothing to do in Cumbria.
